Our Watershed

What is This? What is Coming Soon? The NOAA Fisheries Abstract

Wild salmon populations in northeast Oregon have drastically declined over the past 50 years and are threatened with extinction. Many federal and state agencies, Tribes, local organizations, and families are working to restore salmon habitat in the Grande Ronde Watershed—but will it be enough?

Along with NOAA Fisheries, the Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission, and Freshwaters Illustrated, the Grande Ronde Model Watershed is creating a 3-minute educational film that conveys the challenge of preserving our collective heritage of salmon runs in Northeast Oregon.
