Big Sheep/Buehler Fish Passage

  • GRMW ID: 1845
  • Fiscal Year: 2011

The project, located on Big Sheep Creek approximately 3 miles above the confluence with Little Sheep Creek, was proposed with the goal of providing season long passage for all life stage for all aquatic native species. Additionally, modifications aimed to reduce sedimentation from annual structure maintenance and promote natural bed load transport through this stream channel. The approach was to replace the diversion and gain sufficient elevation with a series of rock cross-vanes in order to gain sufficient elevation to accommodate both diversion and passage.
